The topic of data protection is more important today than ever before. Let us now turn to the problem with the transmission of emails from Shopware. Unfortunately, these are not encrypted by default. However, with our Shopware Enterprise plugin, you can easily encrypt emails between the shop system and staff. Especially in environments where, for example, sensitive data is sent, this additional protection should definitely be applied.
To use the encryption, you can simply store the corresponding certificates in the administration. When sending e-mails, Shopware automatically checks whether a certificate is stored for the recipient and encrypts the e-mail. S/MIME is used as the standard here, which is supported by most common e-mail clients, such as Outlook, without any additional extensions. Should someone nevertheless succeed in intercepting emails, this person will still be unable to do anything with the message, as the recipient's private key is needed to decrypt the message.
